No 1440 by 900 option just 1024 by 768

I'm using a HP w1907v monitor which is 1440 by 900p but that is not an option under the display settings in control panel. I'm running Windows 10 pro with a GTX 960 gpu running the latest drivers. When I first installed windows I had this same problem but I updated it along with the drivers from my 960 and suddenly the option came up (1440 by 900). I had to move my PC so unplugged it from the wall and when I booted it up again it went back to the "native" 1024 by 768 when that isn't my displays native resolution. It's 1440 by 900. I don't know why and any help will be greatly appreciated.

EDIT 1: It's not even listed under "List all Modes" in advanced settings and yes I have done a factory reset on my monitor and am using a DVI to VGA cable.

Thanks :-)

Don't use VGA if you want proper detection of native resolutions.

@Glenwing That's the only input available and it was working fine earlier in the day so I don't know what went wrong.

Unfortunately it's a common issue with VGA... Try unplugging and replugging everything, reinstalling drivers, etc.

Thanks You! Pushed in PC side DVI cable and restarted PC. Back to good old 1440 by 900.
