Hello guys I just wanted to know why task manager is not showing the ram speed that it's suppose to, since I've enabled XMP and it should show the DRAM speed at 1866mhz but its at 1400, WTF?? Does XMP even do anything ??????

Task manager is NEVER accurate. It reads my 3200mhz ram as "2300mhz". 2300mhz isn't even a stepping in my ram settings at my current BCLk, lol. As long as programs like Aida64 or CPU-Z see it as 1866, you are fine.

My (incomplete) memory overclocking guide:

That's the official website. If you see your ram speed as "933mhz" in CPU-Z, don't worry. That is 100% normal. DDR is Double Data Rate, so 993 = 1866.

So it's defaulting to JEDEC 1600mhz. Hmm. Do you have more than one XMP Profile? If anything, you can manually dial in 1866mhz and your timings. Just make sure you also manually dial in the proper voltage that it asks for on your profile.

933mhz in CPU-Z. That means 1866mhz. It's running just fine.
