i want to switch from WiFi to power line will it work if i plug one downstairs connected to my router and one upstairs connected to a switch.will this work

Yes, as long as those are within the same circuit.

You mean different fuses on the breaker box? 

 

If that's what you mean, then yes, they can be. As long as they're on the same circuit, meaning that the two outlets are physically connected by wires in some way. 

 

If they are on separate breakers, but the same circuit, then it may not work. Powerline can be a bit picky sometimes, depending on how the wiring is set up. I would advise keeping the receipt for the powerline adapters just in case they don't work.

yes-i think, i ran powerlines and they do the job but if things that suck lots of power are switched on such as a washingmachine. or on a night all your lights are on. your speeds will drop significantly. i had them until i ran ethernet cables under my floorboard, to the router downstairs to my 48port switch upstairs which gives ethernet to a few rooms in the house

this will work as long as you dont hit the main transformer that means you can pretty much access your net in neighbor house because jhe i runin from the same power transfromer but ater it it wont go furter

To avoid interference, unplug devices, especially older ones, when not in use, and make sure extension cables are fully unwound everywhere in the house, etc.
