If .net 4 is installing when you run a game on steam: for .net 4 you need to uninstall any previous .net versions and install .net 4 again. I encountered the same problem (never ending circle) when upgrading from 3.5 to .net 4 through windows update.

7 does not come with it.

4.5 installed just fine.

SP1 has it at least. Pretty sure. Whatever.

Here's how..

 

1. Win+R

2. Type "optionalfeatures" and press Enter

3. Find .Net (which ever version you want)

4. Install
