Corsair Dominator? Is it any different?

Hello,

I am still compiling parts on my list for my new PC build and i was just wondering,

if the corsair Dominator 2x8GB would be any different from lets say the g-skill ripjaws 2x8

please reply if you know the answer to my question :)

PS: i would use this for video editing with a  i7 6700k

thanks

Yep. It looks a lot better than most ram kits. But that's about it unless you're comparing it with a lower clocked ram kit.

Current PC: Origin Millennium- i7 5820K @4.0GHz | GTX 980Ti SLI | X99 Deluxe

it's not any different than just having a high profile brushed Aluminum heatsink

CPU: Intel i7 5820K @ 4.20 GHz | MotherboardMSI X99S SLI PLUS | RAM: Corsair LPX 16GB DDR4 @ 2666MHz | GPU: Sapphire R9 Fury (x2 CrossFire)
Storage: Samsung 950Pro 512GB // OCZ Vector150 240GB // Seagate 1TB | PSU: Seasonic 1050 Snow Silent | Case: NZXT H440 | Cooling: Nepton 240M
FireStrike // Extreme // Ultra // 8K // 16K

Dominator Platinum are often some of the highest speed RAM kits on the market, but they're often insanely expensive. And then you're probably better off going for a higher end enthusiast class CPU (i7-5820k, i7-5930k, i7-5960x), but the boards for those I think will only support up to DDR4-2400 anyways. So I personally would never buy Dominator Platinum unless I have a really good reason for a consumer grade CPU while needing extremely high speed RAM.
