Hello

Prepare for a story:

In august of 2015 I completely drained my laptop's battery. Since then it wouldn't charge. The battery percentage stayed at 0 & it said 'not charging'.
After some internet searching I concluded my battery was broken.

Today a new battery arrived. (Yes, it took quite some time)

After installing it, everything seemed fine. Windows said it was charging. After an hour I noticed the percentage stayed at 24%. I did some research and ended up deleting the battery driver in device management.
That didn't solve it. I decided to wait. Maybe it just needed some time.

Now all of a sudden the battery is at 28% percent BUT it says once again "not charging". When I pull the plug the laptop doesn't use the battery. It immediately shuts down.

I've already tried disconnecting the battery, pressing the power button for 30 seconds and rebooted. That didn't work either.

Anybody got any ideas what the problem might be?

Computer specs:

- ACER ASPIRE V5-573G-74518G1TAII AZERTY

- 12GB RAM ( Replaced a 4GB with a 8GB one)

- 480GB Sandisk SSD (Originally a 1TB HDD with 8GB cache SSD)

- Intel Core i7 4500U

- Nvidia GeForce GTX 850M

Thanks in advance! Let me know if you need more information

I originally intended to do that. Thing is: I would probably have to send it over to them and wouldn't have it for a couple of weeks. And I can't go that long without my laptop.

Might still do it as a last resort. :)

Could be a few things... first replace the charger. If the voltage itsnt high enough to charge the battery then it will die immediately... the worst option is the charging circuit inside the laptop is fried which means rip laptop

Thanks. I'm going to look into the charger.

you could contact them and tell your story and they might be able to help you without sending it in, i don't know, but you miss every shot you don't take :)

Might be the wall outlet is dying or the cable is not high enough Volts what cable are you using one that came with the laptop or different one

I'm still using the original cable. But I've already tried using a different cable. That didn't help.
