Are browns significantly louder than reds?

Did you watch the video? They press the switches. Browns and reds don't have clicky mechanisms inside, so the only noise you should hear is if you bottom out the key.

Tip to those that are new on LTT forum- quote a post so that the person you are quoting gets a notification, otherwise they'll have no idea that you did. You can also use a tag such as @Ryoutarou97 (replace my username with anyone's. You should get a dropdown after you type the "@")to send a notification, but quoting is preferable.

Feel free to PM me about absolutely anything be it tech, math, literature, etc. I'll try my best to help. I'm currently looking for a cheap used build for around $25 to set up as a home server if anyone is selling.

If you are a native speaker please use proper English if you can. Punctuation, capitalization, and spelling are as important to making your message readable as proper night theme formatting is.

My build is fully operational, but won't be posted until after I get a GPU in it and the case arted up.

Browns are maybe just slightly louder than reds...but a lot of the sound is also based on type style. If you bottom out on your keys they will make more noise as the switch hits the bottom which is actually past the actuation point for the key to display a letter on the screen. If you don't actually press the key all the way to the bottom there will be very little difference in sound. If you type with a lot of force on your keyboard you will have more noise. The switches themselves are pretty quiet.

I personally went with browns because to me they feel better to type on than when using reds. I appreciate the tactile feedback they have. I would have loved to get blues for the clack but it would drive my wife up a wall. :)

I agree. It depends on how you type. Browns are the best of both worlds. They are tactile but quiet.
