Hey!

I´ve been using an AMD build for a long, long time and have no clue what Intel has to offer. I just recieved my PowerColor PCS+ R9 390 yesterday and now I´m thinking of upgrading my CPU as well, because what I´ve read is, that the 6350 is going to be a bottleneck.

I have an AMD FX-6350 with an Asus M5A99X EVO R2.0 in an NZXT H440 case. Could you recommend a good processor and mobo to go with it? I did some research and 4690k seems like a good choice. I have a budget of about 350-400€ (about 380-440$).

Agreed. Also try to look for a H97 mobo that has usb 3.1 and type c (may be useful soon). A sub 100 euro b85 mobo with usb 3.1 type c and a is the ASUS B85-Plus/USB 3.1 althought it doesnt have many "gaming" features to comparable asrock and msi motherboards.

4590 = Haswell Refresh

4570 = Haswell OG

With your budget you should be going for something newer like the i5-6600k on a Z170 series motherboard (if you like to OC) or the i5-6600 on a H170 series motherboard if you don't intend to overclock and a decent CPU cooler too.

i5-6600K , i5-6600

The LGA 1150 setups suggested above are older (I'm stuck with one) LGA1151 is the way forward.

EDIT: I should also mention I have 8GB of DDR3 memory, so no DDR4 mobos.

Thanks for all the replies! I don´t intend to overclock, so no need for that really. I´ll look over the parts and choose by performance per dollar. I have to take into account, that in Estonia, most of the suggested items are a lot more expensive than on PcPartPicker. For example: 4590 is 172€ on PcPartPicker, but 210€ in an Estonian store.

Missing something?

To go Skylake OP needs a DDR4 kit as well.

I´d still stay with DDR3, because I have 8GB (2x4GB) RAM and I could get the same kit for 48€.

Get i5-6400 and ASRock Z170 Gaming K4/D3 motherboard, it still uses DDR3 (if you want to stick to it) and you can overclock the i5-6400 on it :) It's going to be superior to the 4460+h97 combo but it might be a little more pricey (doesn't have to though).

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT 16GB GDDR6 Motherboard: MSI PRESTIGE X570 CREATION
AIO: Corsair H150i Pro RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB 32GB 3600MHz DDR4 Case: Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic PSU: Corsair RM850x White

I'd highly advice against OCing that CPU

You lose speedstep, you lose C-states, you lose the ability to properly read temps, lots of potential instability

Possibly, since I never use any turbo/speedstep features and C-states I don't mind those gone, so I guess it depends on whether you'd like to put some time and effort into getting more performance rather than having less, but with no hassle/issues whatsoever

What do you guys think about Intel i5-4690 + Gigabyte GA-H97-D3H combo?

It's a top notch price to performance combo if you absolutely won't buy DDR4 for Skylake and don't want to buy overclockable DDR3. The i5-4590 is a significantly better processor than the i5-4460 that everyone loves here while not being that much more expensive usually.
