Good Deal?

So is this a good deal? I found a GTX 760 for $100 in like new on Craigslist in my area. It's an EVGA SC ACX edition. Not sure if it has 2 or 4GB RAM. No original box, but not a huge issue with Craigslist being local pickup.

I guess. You can get a 7970 for 100$ US though and that's 30% faster. But a 760 in good condition is definitely worth a look. Just test it and make sure it works

I would say yes, as long as it's in good condition. 760 is a very good card for it's age, particularly an EVGA one. You'll pay more than twice that for a 960 which is only marginally better.

So I did a quick look around for 7970's. Where did you see $100? From a few sites (Craigslist, Ebay, Reddit Hardware Swap), I'm seeing ~$140.

It's more of a gamble but a 7950 is easily doable for that kind of cash and it's still 10% faster than a 760.

For reference the r9 280 is just a rebranded 7950 that is clocked higher. The r9 280x is a 7970 GHz edition. Only you can really decide whether or not that's worth it to you. I would say that $125 for a 7950 is a good deal, but it all depends on the condition of the card.

Dual-X is a very potent cooler. If both cards are in good condition I'd go with the 7950 (R9 280)

Although user bench is generally pretty garbage (almost as bad as gpuboss) I completely agree, 7950 > 760.

That's only on 2 or 3 occasions though. When looking at mobile mostly since a lot of the benches include thermal thorttling laptops

I'd never buy a GPU from craigslist, you have no idea who you're buying from and no recourse if you get scammed.

Buying used from Craigslist locally, in my opinion, is a better idea than buying used online because you can usually test.
