The PSU is fine, the NEX series is actually worse.

You're right, I didn't know EVGA used a crappier OEM for that series. 

B2's Are still seasonic oem's if I'm correct

They are superflower which is also excellent.

Other than baseclock ocing, that can't be overclocked so you're stuck when you need more single core performance. I'd stay with the 6600k

It's not going to matter unless he has a 144hz display, it's not worth giving up the extra 4 threads at the same price for a bit more single core performance and USB 3.1

also to that earlier comment, single channel vs dual channel doesn't really matter for anything that isn't an APU, as RAM speed does basically nothing for most people.
