Well, I was going to get the Nvidia Shield K1, and then I saw:

INSTANTLY STREAM AMAZING GAMES FROM THE CLOUD ANYWHERE

And I honestly don't really understand, I searched up some stuff and it said something about "Geforce Now", and then I saw some kind of mini computer looking thing and Honestly this has confused the hell out of me. The most I'm getting from this is that, If I pay a monthly fee, buy a K1 Tablet, a Controller and that weird box thing, I can play games streamed from Nvidia onto that box thing into my tv using the controller and use the tablet with the controller on the go with WIFI to play said games. I'm probably 100% wrong and am spewing a bunch of nonsense out now. Can someone help me please?

They've got a load of servers that are running the games, you send the input to the server and it responds, you're basically getting a video stream from their servers.  the mini computer is the shield, they have a controller that's connected to a screen, a tablet and a game console all with the same name, it's kinda confusing.

Ahh, so do I need the Mini computer thing to do this game stream?

Hi okay so basically Nvidia has something called the GRID which allows you to play a few selected games from their servers over the cloud. Think of it like Google drive  where all the important bits like Graphics Cards etc are over at Nvidia and all you're doing is streaming it sorta like Youtube. I'm not sure what you referrring to when you say mini computer but in order to use the Nvidia GRID service you either can buy you the Nvidia Shield Tablet Or Nvidia Shield TV which cam stream Netflix etc in 4K mind you. Nvidia GRID is a paid monthly subscription though and the games on offer aren't that much, you also need quite a strong internet connection 15mbps at minimum.

From what I've read, it seems they covered the stream function of grid.

But your still left with the minicomputer and why it is in there.

When you own a nvidia GPU on your own computer, it is possible to render certain games (like half-life 2). these rendered games will then be streamed to your Shield tablet, what would make for better quality and a smoother gameplay experience on your Shield device.
