Tip:, static can only build on insulating materials (cotton, wool, plastic, etc) Metals can conduct that charge.

Thank you!

and in the future don't worry about static too much, I build with socks + a carpet under my feet and in 10-15 builds I have never had any static problems :)

I build on my bed while sitting on carpet lmao

yea, I notice the more people build pc's the more we realize static discharge is so rare :P never seen an experienced builder heavily worried about it

Especially in Texas, it's always humid. I've never had static in the time I've lived here.

Cats and wool... There's your static. But you are right. Its really rare to get major shocks while building. And only components that are really sensitive are CPU and CPU socket.

I do the same.

I always feel sorry for my cats in the winter months, they're always getting their ears shocked when we pet them.

Ears, tail, and few along the back. More fur, more shocks.

We have to get shorthair Siamese because my dad is allergic to cats (my mom and I both love cats though so he let us one and then adopted another after the dog died), so they really only get shocked on their ears. The older one doesn't care, but the younger cat is more sensitive and doesn't like it.
