RAM Upgrade fail!

Gogu

Hello,

I curently own a PC with 4 GB of DDR3 1333 dual channel placed on a ASUS P5G43T-M Pro motherboard.

The stiks work fine at 1066 MHz.

I bought 8 GB of DDR3 1333 dual channel to upgrade the PC but after i plug the RAM in it does not POST.

I tried putting one stick at a time without any luck.

The RAM i bought works fine, i checked it on another sistem.

Thank you!

You didn't really ask a question in the main post but I am going to assume you want us to fix it.

Do you have a 64 bit or 32 bit Processor?

If the CAS latency timings are different on your new sticks from your old your gonna have a bad time, sometimes works sometimes doesn't, I had the same nightmare with my ram recently, buying ram at different times always has the possibility to create a headache and even more so if your CAS timings are different, you can manually set them in bios but I still didn't have any luck doing that!

The procesor is a Q8300 (64 bit).

The latency is CL9 on both old and new RAM.

reset your bios and put the new ram in. .it should run at 1066 then you must oc them to 1333 but there is no guarantee that you'll be able to run them at 1333.. anyway.. there is no difference at all from 1066 to 1333.. so.... its a waste of money...

I dont care about the frequency, what i care about is the capacity.

I never understood why people by a single stick of unmatched brands and capacities of ram.

Just get yourself 2 x 4 GB and call it a day...
