I have a cannon wifi laser printer that died. Need a new printer. I'm kinda thinking I want to avoid a wifi printer for cheaper costs. I have a Arris TG1682G modem/router from my ISP. It has USB ports. Will any old UBS laser printer plug into it and work as a network printer? Was looking at cheaper used laser printers off amazon.

I have a network printer that has WiFi, ethernet and USB. The USB is connected to an old PC that isn't networked, and can print that way. The ethernet is connected to the my ISP-provided AIO router/switch/AP, allowing any PC or mobile device on the network to print, and I've never had any connectivity problems with it. I have the printer's WiFi disabled.

The printer is an Epson WF-3520 (small home office inkjet printer), and I have a BT Home Hub 5 for my network. I hope this helps.

Yeah, we have a WiFi printer and I hate it. Some times it fails to connect, and Scanning to Computer feature rarely works.

I usually use scan to SD card, as I usually have one laying around, and I can't be bothered to set the scan to PC up, but I think it would work if I did.

My printer also has a feature to map the SD and USB ports in the front of the printer to network drives on PCs connected to the network, which is cool.

You know they used to make print servers that you hooked your printer up to. Then you just hook it in to a port on your router. Not sure if they still make them.

Best advice I could give would to use one of your computers as a print server. You will have to leave it on to print, but you can share the printer across the network.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.
