For me graphics cards are like this 100-200 the 7800 series 200-300 7950 series 300-400 7970 400-600 gtx770

Mainly for gaming but some video and photo editing. probably $600-$800 for the GPU and i know its a very vague budget it depends on it i want to spend money on it or get it for a present

The 7990 falls exactly into your budget, @ $660 it's almost twice as powerful as the GTX Titan which costs $1000.

For autocad Nvidia's Quatros are amazing. I'm a born again ATi man myself. I used Nvidia from my first Geforce4 to my FX 5200.

Why throw a 770 ? IMO why pay $100 more for similar performance. Or why pay $2300 more for similar performance. nvidia is just asking for to much money as per usual.

I would go with an AMD card because they offer a great price to performance ratio and they are better at OpenCL which most rendering/folding applications use.
