I'm doing a gaming pc build. Have the case picked and own all peripherals just looking for some inside on the internals I've roughly put together. Asus rog maximus vIII hero. Corsair hx 750i psu. Intel i7 6700k. Hyperx fury ddr4 2666 16gb (4x4). HyperX Predator M.2 2280 240GB. Already have a 3t wd drive. Looking for suggestions in terms of cpu cooling. My last issue is the gpu. I won't have enough money to get all this stuff plus the 980 class gpu I'd like right now so wondering if there is a good 300dollar or less option that will still be a good card for the next 9months to a year.

The 6700K is way too overpriced right now.

And don't get a ROG board such a waste of money.

If you got a decent board a 6600K you might be able to get a 980ti and have a much better combo.

Get a cheaper motherboard (I know hoe nice the rog looks but it's not worth nothing that special other than fucking rgb) if your gaming an i5 6600k is fine, if your ONLY gaming 8gbs of ram would be plenty aswell, as for CPU cooling take a look at the x61 kraken NZXT.

OK I will look into that. Just and edit tho, I'm looking to build an awesome rig that will last many years not looking to just settle for slightly cheaper older Gen stuff. Am willING to spend the money but want to make sure I'm spending it in the right places

if your just gaming i5 6600k is fine and if your not over locking go i5 6600 non k as it's cheaper.

OK what mobo would you recommend that offers the same software customization?

you would need at least one 980ti in the next few years if you want to play newest titles with nice fps on nice graphics, the CPU is fine honestly it will last and unless your planing on video editing 8gb ram will be fine and when it gets cheaper you can get more - if you want to ignore everything else I said a valid gpu for a year or so would be. GTX 970

OK I will be over clocking so going to do the k but I will be doing gaming and recording/editing. Still just 6600 then?

CPU I5 6600k

CPU Cooler X61 Kraken NZXT

RAM 16GB DDR4 Kingston Fury 2666mhz 4x4

PSU Corsair 750W

GPU Gtx970 if you want something viable but cheaper Gtx980ti if you want to be future proofed (it's more expensive but worth every penny)

Ontario Canada. And for just these parts it's about 2000 give or take 1-200 depending on how much extra quality it gets me. But if I have to skimp. I want it to be in the gpu. Because no matter what I can't get a 980 class gpu and still afford greal stuff for the rest of the build. So I will be getting a 980 in 6-12 months. So for now just looking to use a cheaper gpu
