CPU Temps not lowering

Go to solution Solved by r1Ns3,

okay then it is not a desktop app doing it.

NEVER MIND I fixed it, I was running some kind of resource hog, it was using 20% of my CPU!!!!

thank you task manager! ended the process now I have 30° Celsius

Thanks all 4 helping.

Hey everyone, just noticed something weird.

I recently started noticing that my cpu temps were pinned at 40-45° Celsius at idle without any games running, just downloading some software and installing battlefield 4. The load is around 30%.

Even if I set my water pump and radiator fans to performance mode it doesn't make a single difference, still exactly the same temps as before.

Ambient temperature is around like 22-25° Celcius.

I don't know if this is normal, and I don't mind it running at 40° but I expected better temperatures from a H110i GTX AIO....

And apparently the i7-6700K was meant to run cooler than most other cpu's... I call BS

No overclocking on the cpu, specs in the signature.

Do you have a auto overclocker on because this sounds like there is a lot more energy running through than normal. What motherboard do you have.

No I don't, 4Ghz stock and 1.2-1.8 ish not hitting 1.3 volts....

and also I said specs in signature

You should have your water pump directly attached to your PSU so it's always running at full power/volts 100% of the time. It should not be connected via a fan header.

The H110i GTX has a controlable water pump that connects to z170-ar W_Pump headers on the motherboard.

And includes a USB header for customization through Corsair Link

Ok is your mount good on the cooler

Well it wasn't always like this, and there is no way to check for that btw...

This only happens sometimes, it goes up by 10° and doesn't come down until I reboot the whole system.
