Recommend me a wireless card

So i recently got the TP-link 4800 for my build as i don't have wired ethernet to my room. After messing with driver and posistioning around the house I can not get the device to get more than .5mbps down. I've had enough and I've decided it's not worth my time anymore so I'm sending it back for a full refund. But i still need a card

Recommend me a new wireless card with these conditions

  1. Needs to be sold by amazon
  2. windows 8 compatable
  3. My router supports b/g/n (2.4Ghz only)
  4. Be able to penetrate multiple walls/floors
  5. PCI-e based
  6. and around $35

Any ideas on how to help a brother out?

Have you downloaded the drivers online?

I have the 4800 and it's wonderful.

I've tried the drivers on the disc, off their website, even the driver to the chipset makers themselves. It's not happy with me.

Lol didn't read?

Sorry, hadn't seen the part about the WDN4800. I had tried to link to the WDN 3800, but it was redirecting you. The PCE N53 from ASUS is great.

I had the same issue. Have you re-seated it?

I also decided to upgrade the antennas, and I love the WDN4800.

You may have a DOA, RMA it.

As said before I'm, returning it for a full refund.

I even tried adding a 7'in antenna to it. I get 3bars vs. 2.  No speed change though.

Have you re-seated it? It's not the size of the antenna, but the gain that it has.

Quick question, why does it need to be PCIe based? I honestly think the USB ones are a bit better because they don't need complicated driver setups, most are plug and play and you can put the USB adapter above your desk or on the table for better signal reception. Sure, the PCIe ones are usually better for those people who have complicated needs (which is ok, not bashing on them) but for the vast majority of people who get online, USB adapters work very well.

I get 60 frames at 1080p on a dual core APU. Ask me how.

The only issue with USB adapters is that they are usually made with cheaper components have have weak antennas. With a USB Wi-fi card, I couldn't even connect to my network from where I sit (45 feet away, 6 walls, one floor), with a PCI-e card, I get about -60 dBi (4-5 bars)

thanks for the info. I have been using USB cards for years and have not had much of a problem. I get about 40-60 mbps in the basement and the 100mbps router is upstairs, so I am happy.

PCIe is plugged right into the system bus. usb is not it can propose issues. but more than that I'm more familiar with PCIe and i don't want a usb card sticking out.
