First Time Build Thoughts

Go to solution Solved by Streetguru,

I am sure you know what you are doing unlike me and this is a really nice build, but I was wondering how well that CPU performs with the GPU? Would it get "bottlenecked"? Thanks for the reply!

That CPU probably isn't going to bottleneck you in CS:GO, this has basically the same CPU vs an i5

http://www.technologyx.com/featured/amd-a8-7650k-apu-review-the-little-apu-that-could/5/

an 860+360 will be fine, an i3 + 380 would be better, though going with the 860K+360 would get you a 144hz display

Of course for like 300 bucks you could get an APU build and just use the iGPU, you can find benchmarks at that link as well

  • I am looking for the cheapest gaming computer one can put together that can still perform and get good frame rate.
  •
  • The games I am looking to play are CSGO, Insurgency, Smite along with possibly Payday. Yet mostly CSGO.
  •
  • I am looking to get Windows 10 on this system.
  •
  • I am looking for a 1080p monitor at 60hz, but higher if at all possible
  •
  • I am looking to stay at low settings in all games because this needs to be cheap enough to allow my parents to accept it(and they dont want me to get a job like wtf)

The builds I am looking at right now are these

If you have any suggestions, thoughts or complete changes please tell me. This is my first build and I need all of the help I can get to convince my parents, thanks for the help!

Here's your APU option with a 144hz display, only thing is you're stuck with TN panels at that price range, display as free-sync as well for when you throw in a dedicated card later

Honestly an APU can game pretty well, it also supports free-sync but that would mean spending more on a motherboard with display port out, probably not worth it

That is pretty sweet but honestly I think I will stick with a dedicated graphics card and go with a 60hz monitor because this is a.....budget build........*rolls eyes and hates life for a moment* xD

Suppose you could always get the 144hz display later, but it could probably saturate the display in CS:GO at 720p

I can run CSGO on my nas with an Intel x3210 ($10) and a 9800gtx (~$35). It isn't maxed out, but I can achieve easily 90FPS and at that point, the CPU is the bottleneck. The card still has more to give. Can play Gta V at a solid 30fps too, just looks like crap compared to me 2550/1080 maxed out normal.
