"Resource cache builder tool" - can someone give me a quick explanation as to what i's for? Thanks

Mcbuilder: This is the Microsoft Resource Cache Builder Tool, which spends its time trawling your hard drive and analysing your system to build up cached events to make the OS operate faster. By doing so, it consumes resources, but unfortunately, the Resource Cache Builder Tool is necessary to the normal functioning of Windows.
