A problem I was having was I overclocked the cpu to 4.2ghz but I would run a stress test and it didn't fail... But after launching a game and playing for like 10 minutes it froze so I had to hard restart my pc I hope this isn't just a bad binned cpu... That would make me Sooo mad.

Sounds like it's not getting enough juice, try upping the voltage.

Almost as cool as my temps

No error code or nothing

yes that's what you usually get when there's not enough voltage it freezes

Yes but from my understanding Linus got away with 1.3v at a 4.5ghz oc how is that?

he got a better chip

I'm running 5820K at 4.2GHz @ 1.265V and can't get anything more than that

Oh and it was 4.0ghz so I don't have any luck with 4.2 ghz basically

explain...

did your PC freeze with 4GHz @ 1.3 V ???

are you sure you set the values correctly in the BIOS?

could I ask for a screenshot of your BIOS and CPU-Z ??
