I am making my first pc, a $800 build w/ Windows and w/out kb&m.

I have two possibilities

Intel:

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/gkFGrH

AMD:

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/gxDx4D

I need recommendations for it, I want it to use it mainly for gaming but if it can perform well in other fields then that would be good.

I want as also considering switching to a gtx 970 but at the same time if feel like the r9 390 will be more future proof, especially for higher resolutions.

First off, I think you need a different PSU

BOINC Setup:

Core2Duo T6600 @ Stock

i3 2330M @ Stock

Locked CPU on a Z series motherboard and 1600Mhz RAM

Might as well go for H97 board even a H81 will do well and cheaper too

I would get better ram but the price to performance is not worth it, as far as the z series mobo that was a cheap one compared to the h97 mobos
