@Volbet im running a Intel Core i5 3570k, nothing will be overclocked, 8gb kingston hyper x blue DDR3 1600mhz ram, asus external dvd drive, mobo is asus p8h61mx usb3, all in corsair 350d, with two 3.5inch HDD's one is a WD Green 2TB and the other is a WD Blue 7200 500GB HDD

Then 850W should be enough for crossfire 7970s

ok thanks and ill have headroom as well? (bit extra) which is sort of needed

You have some headroom. I wouldn't plug in a third graphics card or anything major like that. But you can add an extra HDD/SSD and some fans

Is this your PSU? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817171013  If it is then it's junk and I would recommend replacing it.

This is a great deal if you live in the US...?   750 watt is perfectly fine for two 7970's that are not going to be overclocked.

@Face2Face no that isnt my power supply, however this is : http://www.coolermaster-usa.com/product.php?product_id=3084

Yeah, it's still an eXtreme series PSU and they do not produce their spec. I am not trying to bust your balls, I actually have one of the first eXtreme series and it sucks as well. I even talked to a CM rep and they said they are going to disco the product.

ok @Face2Face what would mine realistically do/be?

I cannot find a review on the 725w model. But Here  is a review on the 425w. In their review they state the 475w model can only reach 430w before it started to fail. So what I am saying is that your 725w PSU will probably only be able to do roughly 675 watts at it's peak, and much less for a continuous load, which is what you should look for. I think CM is discontinuing this line because it's basically false advertising. Advertising a model can do 475w, when it can't even do 430w for a peak load. If i were you I would look for a quality PSU made by Seasonic or another brand that uses them as an OEM. I really like the new Cooler Master V seiries, as they are all based on the Seasonic KM3 platform and are about as good as you can get for voltage regulation and ripple. Nevermind they achieve Platinum efficiency @ 40c, which is a temp most PSU's run.

also your contradicting @Volbet 's answers as he said my psu is alright as they use CWT.....????

I'm sorry to say, he is wrong. Here is some info on your current PSU. If you look closely they are not even saying your PSU can hit 725w - Only 675w peak. Never heard of this OEM, i'm sure this platform blows if it can't even reach it's advertised output. CWT makes some decent to really great PSU's and this is definitely not one of them.

ok @Face2Face is the Corsair TX850 V2 any good?

Yes this is good PSU. It's made by Seasonic and can do it's labeled wattage(850w) even @ 50c.  I would prefer a higher efficiency model, but you can't go wrong with it if the price is good.

@Face2Face and i may disagree on what a OK pSU is. I wouldn't worry, but if he has personal experinence with the exact PSu that you are using it he has more then I have.
