The headset mic died on my HyperX Clouds (or at least I think it did).

Anyways I'm looking for a new mic.

Light youtube, mostly to do with voice chat.

Just a good price/performance one.

Preferably under 100$ USD as that's hella expensive in Canada.

Whether it's something like a modmic 4.0 or a something that sits on my desk, it does not matter.

Thanks for any help you can provide fam.

EDIT:

I have no XLR inputs or w/e so that means strictly analog and USB.

I make bad life decisions.

This, this or this will be good for you...the last one is dynamic so its better suited if you have a lot of background noise since it does not pick it up much.

I have a decent amount of background noise most of the time.

I don't know much about advanced audio, but I don't have anything to plug and XLR cable into or w/e.

I make bad life decisions.

Aside from the XLR connection the ATR2100 has an option to be connected w/ USB too so that shouldn't be a problem :)

That would be good as well but since you do have some background noise I don't suggest getting it (since a lot has complained about sensitivity).

Right now I do, but pc is most likely getting moved somewhere with less soon. And it's not constant, there's just some from time to time. I mainly use pushtotalk as well. So IDK if it will be much of an issue. Maybe at first, but once I build my PC it should be a lot less.

And potentially couldn't I just turn down gain or w/e?

I make bad life decisions.

I bought the Blue snowballl for a friend, and it gives really good quality for chatting in both TS and Skype, if you have push to talk there won't be any issues.

Yeah that's the one I'm looking at right now. The question is, the Black iCE edition or naw? The iCE one is cheaper by about 35 CAD but it doesn't have omnidirectional pickup or w/e, which may be important to me seeing as I'm not going to have it right in front of me on my desk.

If you want something like the mic on your headset, take a look at the Antlion Modmic.

It doesn't really matter IMO. I found the mic on my headset tended to get in the way of whatever I was drinking (usually tea) so IDK if I want to go that way.

I make bad life decisions.
