dedicated card for physics?

I've been told that you can dedicate a gpu to physics (say I want to get a 980 and use my old 750ti for physics). But is it even needed for games on current/new graphics cards?

Not really worth it. PhysX won't hurt your 980 that much.

Since PhysX is hardly used, I wouldn't bother getting a dedicated GPU for it. Most GPU's now handle PhysX well anyways.

Not needed. If anything, it would decrease performance alongside a 980, considering how little PhsyX is used, the 980 would handle it well.

There is a NCIX Techtips video where Linus tests this, it makes no difference and maybe bottleneck your main GPU.

You'd only hurt performance doing that, it's not worth it.

I disagree, it really depends on how much games utilize physX technology, 

 

on a game like Mafia it makes little difference but once you move to something like boarderlands 2 you will see a pretty noticeable difference.
