CX are crap and running one for such a system is a big gamble. Could lose your system to it.

I have the same psu, and had 2 760's, and they worked like a charm.

Raw performance wise, they were on par if not better than my current 780ti when scaling was good (generally the case, excluding exceptions like watch dogs), however the 2gb of vram may hinder you (I did not notice an issue at 1080p, however my vram usage is pretty much always over 2gb on my current 1440p monitor)

Many people say that the cx series are prone to issues (I personally have had no issues), so if you can spare the change, look at getting something slightly better.

Off topic slightly but would a CX 500 handle a R9 290 along with a 4460 in your opinion?

Nope. Not safely.

There is no way your system will actually pull more than 400 watts from the wall even under heavy gaming load so that PSU will work fine. SLI does have its issues and a single more powerful card is always recommended if you can afford it. That being said, getting another 760 is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay cheaper than getting a 980ti or something.

EDIT: I know that in theory that system needs more than 400W, i am saying that in PRACTISE, it will not pull even close to 400. Tested with a UPS with wattage readout.

When in doubt, re-format.

PSU is one of the most reusable parts of any pc. Best to spend lots and reuse it.

That's true, however when I first built my system, I was on a bit of a tight budget (hence the dual 760's over a single 780), and being in Norway, I did not have a large variety in the PSU's I could get. Back then I did not see the merits in spending twice as much on the psu (about $160 for the next step up, being the AX series), and having to deal with a single 760.

Being my first system, the PSU was one of the thing I was least versed in, so I just did some math and got the cheapest 700W PSU I could find...

Hey I want to buy another gtx 760 and I have a 750w corsair cx750, will a 2way sli work without stutter?

I say 750W is more than enough and then the CX750 is not enough cuz it kinda crappy

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

Your system will see under 550wDC with those two cards in SLI. The CX750 is a PUQ-B based unit from CWT. While it is a bit cost down in comparison to other units based off of that platform, the CX750 should be able to handle that.
