Windows 10

alright

on the laptop, go to your network and sharing center

under active networks, click the blue colored network name

click properties (its an admin one)

from there, click the sharing tab.

click allow other network users  to connect through the computer's internet connection checkbox

click the setting box

allow all the stuff in there

If you select the Ethernet and WiFi (in "network connections" under network and internet from the control panel) and then right click on them, you can choose "Bridge Connections" which will allow you to use your laptops WiFi connection as a bridge to the Ethernet, allowing you to connect your desktop to the laptop Ethernet port and get internet :)
