so I noticed this when I checked on my HDD today T_T

it does freeze my PC sometimes to the point I have to restart...

anyway to fix this?

I would immediately start backing up any data you need off that drive and order a new one asap. A low level format MAY help, but unlikely. Drives die after a while, some sooner than others. How old is it by the way?

When in doubt, re-format.

I would buy a new drive like now and start backing up. You don't wanna lose everything like linus.

idk,its from an old computer my dad brought from the goverment,they throwed the computer away becuase they got better ones.

so I took the HDD from it,my old one died so it made a great replacement for like 6 months.

Hard drives are cheap.

but if im buying a new drive why not just buy an SSD?

thats why im poor....

If you have anything of real value get that stuff off. Like to one of your other HDD's I can see in the system. Things like this they could last a day or year.

An ssd will make the whole OS snappier so I would go for that.

You'd try WD's utility, SMART values weren't the same for all drives, wouldn't be the first time of a misinterpretation of them.

Im doing the extanded diagnostics now,il check with you in like 2-5 hours untill I get all the information,also im helping my mom.
