[Finalizing] Shadow Blade

I think it's done. My planned build for editing/gaming and 3d rendering. My build that I will use in my day to day life. It's not a top of the line 5th gen i7 with a gtx titan, or some low end pentium with a 730. It's not the best, not the worst, but it will do for the things I do :3

I personally think you're spending way too much on the case, and getting a more expensive psu when you could get a just as good one for cheaper, but it's good. If you don't need cuda, go 390.

Could go with wd green 2tb. Just a cost saving measure should not hurt the performance too much.

x99 apparently has a terrible memory imc unless you spend time tweaking it. And i'm not too sure about the Xeon tbh

memory imc?

the Xeon is exactly the same CPU as the i7, just with lower clock speeds, any intel i5 or above running above 3ghz is going to be more than enough for gaming

A. I do somewhat plan to OC in the future, so not sure about Xeons. B. i5 is locked at 4 threads. I'm a heavy multi tasker, which won't help that situation

*typo, meant imc, not memory imc c:

Spending Extra money to OC really isn't worth it anymore, unless you have like a 144hz display.

here's an idea for the X99 build, still not sure what you mean by imc though

also the 390 is a fair better choice compared to the 970, partly due to potentially better DX12/Vulkan support, and becuase it has more performance overall, but mostly you save money on a free-sync display vs a G-sync display

Included a free-sync display, you could always add a secondary display later, though a 1440p display as your second display is going to be a lot better

I need ShadowPlay, hence the 970. I have two monitors for multi tasking.

AMD has GPU accelerated streaming/recording with raptr, otherwise you could use DXtory/OBS to do the same job, is it really worth losing performance and future support overall just for shadowplay?

well what's wrong with it's memory controller? google is telling me nothing, if it's related to RAM speed, RAM speed doesn't matter for anything aside from iGPUs for the most part
