CF 7970 microstutter?

Would a CF 7970 microstutter enough to ruin the experience enough to make it worth getting a 780 over an extra 7970? (I already have a 7970)

 

Edit: I have a 16x and a 4x PCIE port if that matters

It is basicly not noticible now so no it won't and if you already have a 7970 definitely get another over a 780

well there's radeon pro now which makes it alot better and from what I've heard not that many games even have microstuttering so just get another 7970 instead of getting a 780 and wasting money

780 is not enough more powerful to justify the cost.

 

To be honest? I wouldn't even get 7970 at this point. Wait for Maxwell if you want GeForce. Even new Radeons which are rumored to come out sometime this year will NOT be a good upgrade for you. Maxwell should pack a good +50-60% performance compared to 7970 (single card solution). GTX 780 packs around 25-30% compared to 7970.

Microstuttering is no longer a prominent issue and won't effect your experience. If you are going to sell the 7970 for a really good price, then yeah getting a 780 might be worth it, but otherwise no. 7970 CF will beat a 780 in a game with good multi gpu support.

What motherboard do you have? Most boards are wired for 8x 8x when two cards are in, the board in your signature doesn't exist unless you mean the MSI Z77-G43 in which case I would avoid crossfire with an x4 slot.

Wait for the 9000 series. Get one if they're good or a discounted 7970 afterwards.

Rumor is CF will be nearly as good as sli when the drivers are fully finished.

Running CF HD7970ghz cards in 16x and x4 in my setup, no microstuttering really noticed. especially with the 13.8 Beta drivers. check out this thread with my benches. http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/51667-crossfire-7970/
