Hey, I recently bought some games on steam that are best played with a controller, and I decided I would just use the controller from my old Xbox 360. I plugged it into my PC and the Xbox logo on the controller just blinks green every second rather than constantly having a quadrant lit. I know the controller itself works (I tested it on the Xbox) but when plugged into my PC, any button pressed doesn't register and (as said before) the Xbox logo blinks green every second. As far as I know, I've installed all of the proper drivers and they didn't help the issue. Any solutions?

Are you using the Xbox 360 wireless controllers, or the wired ones?

The wired Xbox 360 controllers will work with a PC via simply "plug and play."

As  for the wireless controller, you need to purchase a wireless receiver.

The Xbox 360 charging cable is JUST a charging cable. It DOES NOT send / receive data.

The Xbox 360, itself, has a wireless receiver built in.

Been there. Done that.

The controller is wireless. Do you know anywhere I can get a cheap wireless receiver?
