I go back to fps not being everyone's priority. I'd gladly give up a few fps for better drivers and less stuttering. Especially if we're talking about 1080p where most of the time most cards over a 380/960 peg the meter.

I said, drivers. I've spent the last 2 days trouble shooting a driver issue with 15.12. Might mean not being able to use VSR. That's a common theme with AMD, here's this great thing that doesn't work.

You both realize that fps is one means of judging the performance of a graphics card, right?

Works for my friend. His 280 is getting the same valley score as a 770 on release.

Told you already, try a fresh install of Windows. Might fix everything (as did for my Nvidia driver)

Nope, really thought it had though and I appreciated the advise. Looking like it's VSR. Not saying 100% sure but I've got it widdled down to that.

Did, worked last night but today is locked at 100% again. Just the core clock this time. New monitor fixed my desktop icon moving around though.

I almost feel like you're installing the drivers off a USB with Windows 95 on it ._.

I have 3 friends using a 280, 280X and 290 - not one has issues. Why?

Wild guess, you're not listening to me and the issues I'm having. When someone does that with the issues you're having with the Nvidia drivers on your laptop how do you react?

With VSR disabled no problem yet, as with every time I disable it. Is that because my GPU doesn't stay at 100% for any amount of time? No idea. But I'm still trying to get it to work.

Could you please provide a citation as to two wrongs making a right?

Still think it has to do with being at 100% GPU usage. Though it doesn't happen in benchmarks.

Well of the games I play there is only 1. There it's only miss displaying things named mesh, but this guy I know told me his old games would not even run on his AMD card.

That sounds pretty serious. What games are they?

Ive had so many more issues with AMD, the fan bearings were fucked when I got it, it doesnt overclock well at all, the temps are always higher and its loud

Neither of those things has anything to do with AMD. You bought a card with a shitty cooler.

Yep, not VSR as I locked at 100% clock speed again at 1080p. 15.12 is a garage driver, complete garbage.

I play with a GTX960 2Gb FTW oc 1500/200. 2Gb at 2560*1080 resolution and i have no prob since i don't force on AA.

 

imo R9 380 and R9 380X are better but oc range is very limited compared to the 960

And put into fps the difference is near impossible to see when both card are oc.

 

Personally last AMD card i bought was MSI HD5870 Lightning and it was terribly bad experience.

The card itself was powerfull but drivers were crap except for AAA games and random texture bug + game crash was frustrating.

 

I won't say it's still the same for AMD today and Nvidia got issue too but personally until i am forced to go for AMD, i won't again.

The game I played was Second Life there was some 3rd party fixes and work around a but still... The guy I know who had issues with AMD cards had issues using a new AMD card on older games from around 2000?

Get atleast a 970, a 390b is more worthy.
