gpu help

Go to solution Solved by Arc_Jester,

just for a reference i have to pick between

XFX Radeon R7 370 4GB Double Dissipation 4GB GDDR5 (R7-370P-F24M) , ASUS Strix Radeon R9 380 2GB GDDR5 (STRIX-R9380-DC2OC-2GD5-GAMING)

Although Asus isn't the best when it comes to GPUs I still recommend the 380.

but is 2gb enough for that resolution

If you can spare the money for a 4gb version it would be better, however you'll need the extra processing power more than the larger frame buffer. What I'm saying is, you'll probably run out of gpu (power) before you run out of vram.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

More vram is not always the better choice, the 380 is going to have more stream processors which is where the real difference is. 2gb on a video card is fine, go with the 380!

Current Build: Core i7 4790k @ 4.6, Asus Maximus VII Hero, Corsair Vengeance Pro 2400mhz 8gb (2x4gb), GTX 980ti, NZXT Kraken X61, Fractal Define R5  EVGA Supernova B2 850w, Some 300gb hard drive.

380. As I quote PCgamer "There are 3 things to look for in a GPU mainly. Model number, Model number, Model number!"

Follow the topics you create using the "Follow" button in the top right corner!

One day I will have my GTX 970. One day. PC specs are at my profile.

Not sure how to check what part works with what? Check out my compatibility guide!
