Guild Wars 2 - Performance low

My FPS in Guild Wars 2 get really low (sub 30 sometimes) when there are a lot of people on screen. I wonder why that would be since in those situations my GPU usage is only about 65% on both cards and my CPU usage is at ~50% most of the time. My RAM should be enough too (16GB) and the game only uses little more than 1 GB of VRAM. Also I'm running GemFX if that matters... ^^

Thanks in advance!

That seems weird. GW2 is very CPU heavy and my i5-3570k is almost always pegged at 100% usage.

I have the same issues at times, but other times it runs at 60+ FPS. The game also uses DirectX 9, IIRC

These are the settings I use, and they don't seem to be too bad. But like you said, very populous cities regrade FPS regardless ;___;

I have basically the same results (CPU usage is a bit higher)

I did some testing a while a go and results were inconsistent. Sometimes it utilizes every resource it can and other times it justs sits there half working and lagging.

I don't know if this helps, but here goes. I tried delidding my old 3770K and I damaged a memory controller :angry:

Anyway the processor worked fine but only in single channel. In World of Warcraft with a 280X vapour X my FPS would drop massively from like 50+ to like low 20s. I upgraded to a 4790K last year and the games FPS almost doubled . This only happened in WOW no other game seemed to benefit by this amount.

What processor are you using?

Set character model limit to low to improve things on populated but that's not really ideal, can't really do much since it's engine/server limited.

I just tried on my rig with SLI and I would think its poor optimisation. Lowest I got in D.Reach was 39FPS. CPU sat at aorund 49% utilisation and GPUS both around 60%, however I dont use GEMFX
