Hello Ladies and Gents,

I have a gaming rig which I use for gaming and video editing. However I also need a laptop for on the go editing and maybe some casual gaming.

I have narrowed it down to these two laptops, both £799 (UK).

BUT, I can't decide between the two and it is driving me insane! I need to buy one asap just can not for the life of me decide!

First up we have the MSi GE62 6QL with 6700HQ Skylake and GTx950m

http://www.amazon.co.uk/MSI-Apache-210UK-Gaming-Notebook/dp/B016O5G0SA

Secondly we have the Asus GL552JX with a 4720HQ and GTx950m.

Both are 1080p, both 15.6 inches. The Asus however has a Bluray drive and 128Gb SSD (+750Gb HDD).

Which of these two would you pick and why? Is it worth sacrificing the 128Gb SSD and Bluray drive for the 6700HQ?

Or is it best to get the Asus and sacrifice the 6700HQ??

I am so so so so so torn between these two and I am going insane.

Please help??!!

Thank you all very much!!

Avoid Asus

EDIT: The 4720HQ is faster than th 6700HQ but Asus are just awful. Go MSI

Wow a lot of support for the MSi so far!! Amazing response within 10 minutes god I love this forum!

Quick thing:

After reading reviews I read that the MSi has an 'odd' keyboard layout. However, it has a Display port instead of just HDMI.

So far I am leaning towards the MSi! Any more comments before I commit? lol

The ASUS is said to have an IPS panel but the MSi has a 'very good' TN panel.

So to sum up, the 6700HQ MSi trumps the Asus... Hmmmmmmm.... definitely siding with the MSi now...

Anybody have any more suggestions for the same price range?

Also - anybody got experience with the Msi? Not many reviews out there :)

Thank you again so much!!!

Check the ge62 apache with i7 5700, gtx 960, 128gb ssd+1tb hdd, i heard skylake chips arent really the best on laptops

And I heard Broadwell chips give frequent BSoDs.
