I'm currently planning to replace my ISP provided router with a third-party one. Problem is, my ISP wouldn't assist me with the settings. Is this something that could simply be copied over?

Headset - Razer Kraken 7.1 v2 Chroma

Who is your ISP? As far as I know you need your ISP to do something. (That's how it works at Comcast anyway)

all you have to do is call the tech support with your new MAC address to

enable the new modem's usage on the network.

thats WAY broad to say if you dont know which ISP its about.

 

my ISP uses proprietary protocols, so you cant even get your own modem for their network. (theres reason behind this, i wont get into it)

Usually you need your ISP issued modem, but if you put that in bridge you can get a thirdparty router to do most of the stuff you need :)
