MY aunts laptop runs windows 8 with a standard 500 GB seagate HDD. when I go to turn on her laptop i get an error code of 0xc0000185. I went in Microsoft's help forums and found here -->

I created a repair flash drive like the instructions said, however when I went to boot the PC from the drive it just sat on the Toshiba start up page and kept spinning for 3 hours.

Also, I took out the Hard Drive and put it in an external enclosureso i could attempt to salvage some files from it. When i attached it to my PC it was recognized in Windows File Explorer but it wouldnt open, it actually caused my file explorer to freeze multiple times as it was trying to open.

Am i going to need to buy a new HDD and OS or is there something I can do?
