CPU damage

Go to solution Solved by Xenift,

if not malware, so just a change of thermal compound  or cleaning the cooler should fix the temperatures?

Worth a try, but the problem usually resides in somewhere else.

80 Deg is fairly ok for a CPU.

So i wouldn't sweat it.

So my friend had been using his pc, and he recently said that it started to work slowly (has been slow for 2-3 months), i asked to send me pictures of the temps, and apparently his cpu is at 80+ degrees Celsius, how much damaged could the cpu have received (if it had)?

Probably not because of the CPU.

It is malware/viruses that can cause hogging of system usage which in terms cause lag.

MalwareBytes is a good and free way to get rid of them.

80 is too hot for an idle temp, he'll thermal throttle as soon as he starts working.

HWinfo will show the fan speeds and temps. I'd check to see if the fan is working and if the cooler is properly seated.

Will do
