is Samsung 950 compatible with?

Go to solution Solved by X1XNobleX1X,

Hello! I am ready to buy the new samsung 950 pro NVMe (256bg) and based on Linus's new video on techquickie about the m.2 drives I am wondering if the samsung 950 pro will be compatible with the asus maximus viii hero (z170), so will it be ok or it wont fit or cause problems?

Thanks for your time!!

Don't listen to the guy above, I know he's joking but still misleading.

Yes, it will work perfectly. The 950 Pro is a great M.2 drive, wish it had come out before I went and purchased a Intel 750.

Well, if you have a M.2 slot on your motherboard, you can definitely put one in, otherwise, there are also m.2 to pcie adapters that will do the job, altho you might be better off going with a pcie ssd to begin with.

Both guys above me are right but missed your point. To remedy that: Both the board and the SSD have M.2 type-M connector. Also the board supports the 80mm length. You're golden.

How have we missed the point? He just asked if it would work and be compatible.
