Hi everyone. So I am having a hard time deciding on a pair of headphones I will keep long term. I'll tell you guys a little on what I'll be using them for mostly and my preference.

I bought a pair of sennheiser g4me zeros. But I've been thinking about returning them, and going to a separate headphone w/o mic setup and buying a stand alone mic. If I can get better sound quality by going down that road.

What I want

Closed back:I work in a mill environment so I want closed back to kill some machine noise.

Single cord: I don't want to have to seal with cords from both sides.

What I'll be using them for is playing Xbox one fallout 4 and fps, I'll also bring them to work and listen to music.

I have a mayflower portable amp. I got it for the sennheiser g4me zero, because they take a lot of power to drive them. So I'll have the amp available if I change headsets.

I like the g4me zeros, with the amp the sound is really nice. I paid like 350.00 for them. After buying them and listening to them for a couple weeks. I am just curious for the 350-400 dollar range is there a better set of headphones for sound quality in that price range? I can pick up a mic later.

I appreciate any and all feedback. I should add. I am new into the headphones. These will be my first "higher end" set. I had a set of medusas years ago. When I played a lot of pc.

First off, where in the world do you live? Because if that is supposed to be $350 USD, you got ripped off royally by about $180.

Now, as for headphones, working in a mill I'd sure hope by eliminating outside noises you don't hurt yourself by not being able to hear a warning or something from a fellow coworker. But, if you want to eliminate a good majority of noise, I would check out the Bose QC25, they are Active Noise Cancelling headphones that are pretty much a market-dominating force in the regard of noise cancellation. If active noise cancellation is not something you absolutely need above all else, and ASSUMING a USD budget of $350:
Sony MDR1R
Shure SRH940
Audio Technica MSR7
Mrspeakers Mad Dog
V-Moda M-100 (you will want XL pads with these)
SoundMagic HP100

These are various headphones that are quite different from one another, but fit the closed back requirement as well as price. Something I do not have on that list which I'd recommend as an option, though it does have a cord coming from each ear cup, the Denon AHD2000 IF you are able to find a used pair since they are discontinued.

MSI Z97M Gaming | i7-4790k | NZXT Kraken X61 | 16GB Kingston Savage DDR3 2400
EVGA GTX1080 Ti FTW3 | EVGA G2 750 | Phanteks Enthoo Evolv | 1TB 850 Evo | 2TB 860 Evo | 22TB DS918+

Scarlett 2i2 | WooAudio WA7 Fireflies | Fostex TR-X00 | Beyer DT990 | MrSpeaker Alpha Dog | V-Moda M-100 | JBL LSR305 MK2

Sorry, I just checked my amazon account. You are right. I paid 249.00 usd for the sennheiser g4me zero. For some reason that I thought I paid 350.00. I will edit that.

My mill environment is automated, as well as this is a night shift habit so there are few people around.

From what you said, you seem to know a bit about headphones. The ones you recommended have a better sound quality over the sennheiser g4me zeros? I have thought about the bose qc 25, the reviews I have watched/read said they are outstanding for the noise cancelling. But suffer in sound quality. I am wanting the highest sound quality for the price range. Closed back dulls the machinery enough for me. Noise cancellation is not a must.

By the way thank you for your response.
