I just finished building my new PC. http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/YmZQpg

About 5 minutes into Battlefield 4 it shut off and tripped the power twice. Now the PC shows no sign of life. I have tried removing the motherboard battery, disconnecting drives and the graphics card. So I think the PSU is the issue. I had 550W as you can see from the part picker link. I now think that wasn't enough. If anyone has any ideas as to what it might be please contribute. If not what may've been effected. Or what wattage should I have for this build!

Thanks

That PSU has given a few forum members here a hard time. Replacing the PSU might solve your problem. Check out the PSU whitelist in my sig for lots of good options. I'd suggest the highlighted stuff in yellow in my sig first and foremost.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

Alright, so the PSU is just not a very trustworthy model. Thank you for your suggestions also. Should I be looking for a new PSU with more wattage just in case (something the yellow ones in your sig) Also could have this effected anything else in the system? Is this covered in warranty?

About the warranty, that varies depending on the brand so look out for that. Of the ones in my sig I've heard the best things about Corsair and EVGA in terms of the warranty process.

The wattage of that system should rarely breach 300W so don't stress that too much. 500W is my minimum recommendation while 650W would be recommended if SLI is in store for that 970.
