Good, stick with that for the mic and do NOT purchase the M50, TERRIBLE choice for gaming. The M50X is like a plague in these forums and it's quite a nuisance.

Like I mentioned in another thread, the M50X is NOT a bad headphone, it's a good headphone.... But NOT for gaming, and on top of that it is horribly overpriced and overhyped, the M40X is a much more sensible purchase if the M50X has your interest, but again, NOT for gaming.

As I mentioned in another thread, for gaming, I would look at the Sennheiser HD558 or Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro, both these headphones should be had for $160 and under with the 558 currently selling for $99. If you need a CLOSED set of cans due to a noisy home, I would suggest the NVX XPT100 that sells for $99.

MSI Z97M Gaming | i7-4790k | NZXT Kraken X61 | 16GB Kingston Savage DDR3 2400
EVGA GTX1080 Ti FTW3 | EVGA G2 750 | Phanteks Enthoo Evolv | 1TB 850 Evo | 2TB 860 Evo | 22TB DS918+

Scarlett 2i2 | WooAudio WA7 Fireflies | Fostex TR-X00 | Beyer DT990 | MrSpeaker Alpha Dog | V-Moda M-100 | JBL LSR305 MK2

Agree with everything except the closed recommendation, I would look at the DT 770's or even the M40x instead for closed.

Intel Core i7 7770K | 32 GB's Ram 3000MHz | GTX 1080 Ti | 250GB SSD | 3TB 7400 RPM | Sound Blaster Z | ASUS ROG MG278Q | Razer Blackwidow Chroma | Final Mouse 2015 | Blue Yeti | Seinheiser HD 600's | Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro | Aune T1 MK2

For closed, the 770 is another great choice!

soo i didnt want to make a new post since this is similar to what I want to ask too... so my JVC HA RX700 have serve me EXTREMELY well for very cheap price over these past couple years. I wondering if anyone know a good headphone for around $50 that is overears?

I'm picky on sound quality but built wise i dont mind it much. Just please no gamer headphone like turtle beach or something like that.
