Hi guys,

My PC Build:

AMD FX 4300

Asus M5A78L-M/USB3

Corsair Vengeance 1600mhz 4GBx2

XFX Radeon R9 270 2GB GDDR5

WD blue 1 TB

Corsair VS 550 PSU

Antec X1 Windowed Case

I'm Planning to upgrade my CPU and Motherboard to,

AMD FX 8320

Asus M5A97 LE R2.0

and a Cooler master tx3 Evo Air cooler

My problem is should i change the Psu also or can it support my pc?

I thought VS550 was enough for future minor upgrades to my PC

Please Help me out people.

Personally I'd be going with an Intel CPU as the AMD upgrade path is pretty crap, especially since that chipset is pretty much dead. As for the PSU, I'm confident It'd work, but I'd really look to upgrade it anyway, as the VS series is pretty low end and 550watts is bare minimum imo.

I have to keep the costs minimum, My current setup is bottlenecking my GPU for a quite a long time and my gpu recently went through crisis. There was some Vertical lines and suddenly it wont boot up my desktop just keeps on boot looping. So I sent it a for service under my warranty period. Before it arrives i want to upgrade my PC. The current setup which i own is a sudden decision to buy as I had other plans. I cant spend much on my PC since this year I'm getting into college. I need to buy a UPS, Cpu and mobo. I live in India. Currently i'm planning to buy Fx 6300 and the above mentioned MOBO, UPS With 1KWA Capacity and the above mentioned air cooler. All these comes around 20k. Only when I Start earning i can Upgrade my PC to a Intel and Nvidia Based one.

Thanks for the answers.

Well, the VS550 is a good PSU, I still recommend everyone look at the PSU Ranking list.

Thanks for the answers.

Your 270 is not being bottlenecked. A 4300 to 8320 is a colossal waste of money.
