So graphics card models have always puzzled me.... Why are there so god damn many....I'll be buying a 980 ti this monday or tuesday depending on whether I can physically get to the local shop (ccl) or have to order it online.

Budget? : £600
Space for AIO watercooling? : anywhere up to 360mm
Preferred Colours? : White, black, blue? I'll choose performance over looks though
Will I be overclocking? : Hell yes

Looked at the EVGA and MSI water cooled AIO 980 tis so far as well as some none AIO models but what can I really get the most out of? At this price range I can hit the top end 980 tis I believe. Got plenty of air cooling if its not AIO so cooling isnt an issue. Looking to get the best performance I can here.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated as I get ready to finally put a gpu in my new beast as its been sat without one since just before christmas!

Zotac Amp! Extreeme, Gigabyte Extreeme edition, MSI Seahawk or the Gigabyte AIO or the EVGA one. Most 980TI will be able to do 1450+ core so its all about bining and temps in the room.

Temps are icy cold.... Im weird... My i7 6700k runs at 15*c idle currently and 55*c under full load at 4.7GHZ 1.4v on a h110i GT in a corsair air 540 case... THE COLD IS GOOD, COMPUTERS LIKE COLD!

What are the temps in your room??

Seeing as the performance on most cards is limited by the silicon lottery the remaining factor would be noise. I would reccommend the Zotac Amp! as well. I have heard multiple people complaing bout coilwhine on G1 cards. I don't think you need and AIO to get the max performance.

Logically thinking with the integrated pump on the AIOs they should be louder in idle but quieter under load.

Cold. I dont have a way of measuring it unfortunately but I assure you its pretty damn cold. Easier to get warm than it is to cool down!

I mean seriously, ... 15°C is not cold for outside temps but freaking cold for room temps and you get that temp on you CPU meaning you have about 10K less in you room ... WTF??!

I'm currently running a Hydro GFX, which is basically the exact same thing (even the same manufacturers) as the Sea Hawk. For that budget, I'd have to recommend that card.

Or, if you want an absolutely amazing build, you could get a non-AIO 980ti (I'd suggest either reference or MSI TF), save up a little more on top of what's left over, then get an EK Predator with a prefilled block for the GPU.

You did say you have space for a 360 rad...

This is an option, how much could I put together a loop for?

Edit: Double checked the tech specs

Edit2: I misunderstood you, you were refferring to an AIO GPU cooler correct?

If you went with the Predator AIO, then...

MSI TF5 980ti: ~$660

Predator 360: $240

EK GPU Block (quick-disconnect): $172

For a total of $1,072, or ~£723.40.

That's a little over your budget, but it has two advantages:

-It would include cooling for the CPU, as well as being the best AIO on the market and fully upgradable/expandable.

-You could get them one at a time, so you don't need to save up the entire price difference before getting a 980ti.

I'll see if I can get it cheaper with different versions of the 980ti...

EDIT:

Okay, the Gigabyte Windforce 980ti is (at least for me) $630 on Newegg, and its block is $160, so that total would be $1,030 (£695.05), and the EVGA reference card plus its block would make the total $1,054 (£711.25).

I wouldn't go for the reference board, since you plan on overclocking, but if the Windforce is the same price for you I'd jump at it.

Might be able to shift my h110i onto my housemate as he's looking for a cpu cooler. So that would get me another £70 or so.

GPU - £540

Predator 360 - £180

GPU Block - £113 (154 euros)

Total over budget = £233 (£163 if i sell my h110i gt)

Rather expensive but possible if expanded over time or if I sold my h110i GT possible by the 11th of january. And its also not set in stone as I'd still have a 980 ti in my system on aircooling as planned.

Pains me to say it (I'm running a H110i GT), but the Predator definitely outperforms the Hydro series.

So if you can sell your current cooler and get the Predator, then I promote my recommendation from "it's an option" to "you should do it".

EDIT: Especially if you think you'll do SLI in the future. The Predator is the easiest way for you to add GPUs to the loop.

Thats a possible eventual plan. As a student I don't always get cash I can spend haha and I blew 95% of that on this pc.

Not going for the watercooling option, thought about it a lot. The air 540 case really does lend itself to air cooling with the fact there is nothing between the front intake fans and the gpu, the airflow in this case is silly good. Gonna pickup the zotac amp extreme http://www.cclonline.com/product/181889/ZT-90505-10P/Graphics-Cards/ZOTAC-GeForce-GTX-980-Ti-AMP-Extreme-6GB-Graphics-Card-PCI-E-3-x-DisplayPort-HDMI-DVI-VGA-Adaptor-/VGA2892/

Unless someone has a better option but it seems like its a really good card and it looks great aswell.
