I have a quick question, I purchased a EVGA Supernova GS 1050W and it works fine accept the cord connecting the psu to the outlet is very loose and the whole computer will power down if you even tap it. So I found an old power cord from an old computer and swapped it and it is nice and tight. Can you swap power cords or will it negatively effect my computer? I have a high end gaming pc priced around 2500$ so I don't want this to affect performance in anyway.

AS long as the cable is rated for a high enough wattage. Run some benchmarks for a while and make sure it's able to complete them and you'll be ok. As long as it doesn't shut off you're good. Even then don't worry if it powers off. Under powering never hurt anything.

As long as it has the same specifications of voltage, amperage and wattage its OK. I've changed the cable that came with my PSU because the plug pattern of my country is different that the one that came with it with no performance issues.
