I need help building a PC, I built my own but the price range is a little too high for me and I don't know if I'm able to buy some of the stuff with the sale and everything. Basically, I'm planning to get this as soon as I can and a lot of sales end tomorrow, maybe February I'll have money since it is my birthday and everything. My budget currently is 1100-1230~, and thats the base price without discounts/mail in rebates, if you can build me anything with that range then I'll be more than happy. I'm planning to use a high GPU like a 970 or a r9 390, with 16gb of memory and a BenQ 144hz Monitor (XL2411Z) prefereably a corsair 200r, phantoo enthoo pro, or a nzxt s340 case since I am familiar with those and I don't plan on overclocking so I should be good with either the stock heat sink or a cooler master hyper 212 evo.. help me please, thank you guys so much.. you're an amazing community.

You just need to keep an eye out for deals.. if you're near a frys (or even if you're not) enrolling in the daily promo codes is always useful. Reddit buildapcsales is useful in this regard. Also patrolling places like slickdeals.

If you have good credit, getting credit cards that give 150-250 cash back after spending 500-1000 are helpful in minimizing cost.

Also finding sites that you can essentially exploit to minimize the cost of items is important as well. (jet dot com - gives 20% off on your first order up to 50 bucks, so ordering a graphics card or a couple items that add up to 250 from them saves you money).

that's true that's true, so should I basically just see what I can build during the time that I have money? like february I should build one in terms of the deals correct?

Holy cow a 980tI? is there another option? like a r9 390 or something like that? I'm not going for ultra 4k settings and such, just good and stable FPS in CS:GO and Blacklight:Retribution, and etc.

Yeah kind of. If you know you want to build it in a 3 month chunk of time then go ahead and grab one of the credit card deals assuming you have the credit for it (Chase freedom is 150 cash back after spending 500, $25 more if you add another 'user' to your account). Then just keep an eye out daily for really good deals and just piece your system together thoughtfully and deliberately. For instance I was going to get a really nice power supply, like an evga 850 g2 or 1000, but frys ended up having the antec 750w hcg power supply on sale.. Yeah it's not fully modular, but it ended up being 48 bucks with tax as opposed to paying 120-150 + tax.

Obviously you kind of want to buy everything in a 2-3 week period ideally so if anythings broken you can return it without needing to RMA the manufacturer.

There is an amex card that offers $250 cash back (no annual fees etc) but it takes some work to get the deal to show up. You also have to spend 1000 in the first three months in order to get that reward.
