Fan control problem

vagabond139

I am having a bit of a issue. I just got my second Notcua NF12 Industrial 3000 PWM fan today for my cpu cooler. However a problem has arisen. Both fans are running at full speed. I have them both hooked up with a spilter to the cpu fan header which happens to be the only PWM header on the motherboard. Without a splilter I can control the fan speed fine and before this I was using the stock fans for my cooler with the same spilter and I could control them. I am puzzled as to what it could be

My build for anyone interested.

May be a silly question, but have you made sure your splitter is 4 pin (PWM)?

Sounds like your splitter is faulty or the wrong type which one are you using currently it needs to be a 4 pin PWM one like these:

It for sure is PWM but it could be faulty, that is the only thing I can think of that would be causing this. Guess I am just going to order a new one and if that doesn't fix it I will just buy a fan controller and mount it in the case or try to mod in on to my front panel.

Try getting a new PWM cable first or double check the old one to make sure the pins are properly in place and making a connection. Note one will have 3 pin which is normal, it's missing the rpm line for one of the fans.
