Hey People,

I recently posted that I am building a Gaming PC (which indeed I still am) and I got lots of great responses, but I am still torn on one thing, the GPU.

I have done some research and people say R9 390 or Geforce GTX 970, I am willing to spend around $500 Australian dollars on the GPU.

Please give feedback all will be appreciated!

Cheers  :D

Only way you'd need a GTX 970 is if you're doing CUDA work.  Otherwise, R9 390.

Do you know what brand to get there have been very mixed reviews by users and it is very confusing!

For the 390:

-Any brand will do well except for ASUS and GIGABYTE, which have pretty bad coolers.

-Powercolor is good for someone on a tight budget.

-MSI and Sapphire have the best cards.

Be nice to each other boys and girls. And don't cheap out on a power supply.

I've been thinking of going for the MSI Radeon R9 390 Gaming 8GB Video Card or Sapphire Radeon R9 390 Tri-X Nitro 8GB Video Card but i guess it just comes down to personal preference.

DO whichever one is cheaper. I got the MSI one and think that it's great!

I've seen that on Mwave the PowerColor cost the same amount of money as the other two so I thought I may as well have gone with them, not sure which one though. Thanks again!

The Sapphire Tri-X Nitro is the one I'd personally prefer. Great build quality, excellent aftermarket cooler (if not the best) and overall good customer service.

I have two other things I have wondered:

-Do AMD GPUs work with Intel CPUs?

-Do I need to buy a wireless network adapter for my pc.

They are probably basic questions but if you know the answers it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

I've heard it is a GIANT and you have to take out HDD slots to fit it in, is that true?

Yes, you may have to. But it's only a problem if you have something like 5 HDDs.

Intel CPUs will work perfectly with AMD cards.
