Mapping out Water Loop kit plus extras

So I am gathering a parts list from a few places around the web plus what some people have that they rate very good for first time loop. The examples I like the best are hard tubing, cylinder res, and one 240 then a 360 for my SLi 970 since they won't sell lol

 

My budget starts with Newegg since I have 200 in gift cards there. So I am thinking about a starter kit that has the pump and parts then adding a think 360 rad then hard tubing and the reservoir.

 

Is the Alphacool 240 kit a good start?

Or search for another starter like kit then add extras? Build is being planned and won't get done till March April around with tax return

If you're going to be using Hard ling then those fittings are of no use in that kit

Personally I would recommend the EKWB kits over those due to the bay res and the DC-LT pumps not being the most amazing out there. Also if you want hardline your going to have to get all new fittings.

thank you and thank you. did not know they are not universal. is ther anythign by Alphacool / off New egg I can grab? EKWB makes the water blocks and back plates I need. The Monsta 360 Rad got decent reviews

What case do you have cause the monsta rad is a 80mm thick rad without fans yet, if you can however fit long rads than thicker rads those do tend to perform better. As for other things they do have D5 pumps and reservoirs which you can get.

keep in mind that if you're using multiple rads the cost of fittings will rise quickly, I found this out recently and am finding out again lol switching to rigid tubing

pls don't go with this kind of res/pump combo,

in my experience the DCLT pumps are trash, they're loud plus this combo it's hard to get the air out of the res it's just a mess.

 

you better of saving a bit more money on a good kit.

no worries, not gonna do it. at first I was thinking get a cheap kit and learn how custom loops work and bleed etc with spare PC parts I have laying around.

 

then I studied this. I have 90% of the hardware Bill uses and I LOVE the clean look and space there is left in the case.
