They're so different. It's hard to compare them as services... If you're talking about the livestream portions of both sites than Twitch is light-years ahead. YouTube allows you to (and is designed to help you) discover archived video, and Twitch is based around live streaming of video.

youtube because the twitch UI is worse than youtubes. My sub box has never 'broken' i dont know if youtubers just use it as an excuse for their low view count. Livestreaming games are also BORING so i never watch live streams exception to the linustechtips livestream ( i will never call it the wan show) The person hardly ever talks because they are focusing on the game. I would rather play the game myself. Youtube allows for high quality content and that is also easier to access

Twitch for streaming

Youtube for videos.

Reason being that you can't watch youtube live streams in europe/germany (one or the other), so for me youtube live streams might as well be non-existent.

Twitch, because well... is there an actual reason why YouTube's better in anyway? I mean Twitch is pretty much superior to YouTube in every way, I mean it isn't perfect at all, but compared to YouTube it's  the best ever! xD

Edit: I thought you meant just for live streaming..  Even though Youtube sucks it's still better than the Twitch archives, so YouTube for just normal videos ( If they show up in my sub box ever.. ), and Twitch for streaming.

That's actually a huge downside, didn't know about that. Do you know why that is?

Twitch. As far as a layout perspective goes, it's much more engaging with your viewers that YouTube comments flying all over the place. You can quickly and easily answers viewers have by putting slow-mo timers on the chat.

Another reason is that Twitch can be integrated with automation software, so instead of you needing to repeat something, you can use mIRC or another livestream helper to answer FAQs.

To me the quality is sharper. True, you have to get partnered with Twitch to get some features (1080p), but the free ones are great.

60FPS streaming. 'Nuff said.

Twitch, like YouTube, saves your video footage and lets you post it to social media sites.

Twitch also lets you view livestreams from their app, something that I can't get working on YouTube for the damn life of me.

That enough, Dave? ;)

Why do you ask this question? It doesn't make much sense to compare different things.

Pretty much everyone should know that YouTube's "live streaming" is crap and only used by a few people. It was not what YouTube was made for nor is it what the majority use if for, YouTube is for viewing videos. Twitch is for watching people stream videos live/ and you can also watch highlights made by the streamer.

There is no further reasoning, neither one of them is superior because they fill different needs.

That's pretty impressive, although I find the quality to be around the same and I'd really like to see the video uploaded to Youtube faster with the topic+time tags.

Yes they fill different needs, but similar needs as well. It's these similarities (ie. livestreaming) that provoked the creation of this thread.
